Transcending Obscurity labelmates Dischordia and The Last of Lucy will be bringing their distinct brands of technical death metal across the eastern United States this June on “The Abyss Tour.”
Dischordia’s latest offering is 2022’s Triptych. Mixed and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Replicant), the album showcases the band’s signature dissonant brand of tech death with similarities to bands such as Ulcerate, Sunless, and Ingurgitating Oblivion.
The Last of Lucy will be premiering material from the band’s forthcoming album, which features production and mixing/mastering by Dave Otero. The new record takes the bangers-only formula of 2022’s Moksha and updates it to be heavier, faster, and catchier, while also incorporating elements of the band’s previous progressive/mathcore style.
In addition, the Chicago and Richmond, ID shows happen to line up with First Fragment‘s routing dates on the way home from their U.S. tour, making for an exciting two-night tech-death trifecta.
